The Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God is one of the oldest and most venerated miraculous icons in the Russian Orthodox Church. In Ukraine, it is honored as the Vyshhorod Icon of the Mother of God. This icon follows the Eleusa (“Tender Mercy”) style, depicting the Virgin Mary with Christ in an intimate, loving embrace. The original icon is housed in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and is displayed in a dedicated chapel within the museum.
